From the beginning
Founded in 1970, FPS Fire Protection Limited has grown to become established as one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of portable fire extinguishers in the UK.
Based in Bristol, the company has progressed from the servicing and refurbishing of extinguishers to the present day manufacturing facility of some 2,800 square metres (30,000 square feet).
The secret of the company's success can be found in their policy of ongoing investment. For example, in 1990 FPS was one of the first companies to introduce a state of the art deep drawing press for extinguisher body production.
Later, a fully automated phosphate coating line was installed, together with CNC machining centres for component production, alongside other automated plant and equipment.
These ongoing changes, coupled with improved efficiency, have enabled the company to compete on a world-wide basis, with quality products at competitive prices.
The culmination of this investment programme has seen the launch of the new Firemark range of extinguishers. In addition, all the company's factory manufactured stored pressure models are Kite-marked to BS EN3:1996 and carry a five year guarantee.
